Diana Turner-Forte

Diana Turner-Forte is a teaching artist in dance and movement and writer with a background in classical and contemporary ballet. Her professional dance career includes performing with the Chicago Ballet, San Diego Ballet, Des Moines Ballet and Ballet Met Columbus.

Ms. Turner-Forte is one of the nations leading experts on the integration of body, mind and spirit. She is the founder/director of FOOTPRINTS Contemporary Ballet, an arts organization committed to drawing out the potential of students through dance and movement. Her company was in residence in the Newman Center in Columbus, Ohio for nine years before relocating. In North Carolina, she has conducted a number of dance education residencies in Richmond, Montgomery and Moore County schools, for the Arts Council of Richmond County, Moore County Arts Council, for North Carolina Dance Theatre and for the A+ program, Kenan Institute.

For twenty years FOOTPRINTS has focused on the whole person, using dance/movement as the vehicle for exploration into the creative process which enables participants to access their inner potential and to increase their academic, artistic, athletic and business excellence. AS both and artist and educator, Ms. Turner-Forte draws on her extensive dance background combined with knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, brain development and movement re-education to further participant’s understanding of his/her range of motion and possibilities for creative expression and personal growth. Diana Turner-Forte’s techniques benefit the aging and young alike because the activities and instruction speak to the essence of one’s being, the human spirit.

Ms. Turner-Forte holds both a B.A. and M.A. and is a licensed Brian Gym ® Instructor and Consultant. Her services include: Community programs, workshops and seminars for children, families and adults.
