Opals Classes (60-minute lessons)
Opals 1 Creative Dance for ages 3-4
An introduction for young children to learn basic coordination exercises practiced to different styles of music. The lessons include exercises for learning basic rhythms, working with others in simple patterns and simple dance movements using the full body. Emphasis is made to explore the use of the children’s imaginations.
Opals 2 Creative Dance for ages 5-6
Introduces the fundamentals of ballet, jazz and tap with creative movement exercises.
Opals Dress Code
Girls: Pink leotard and socks with pink ballet shoes & black tap shoes when Tap is included
Boys: White T Shirt with black shorts or gym shorts and white socks and ballet shoes or sneakers.
Sapphires Classes (60-minute lessons)
Ages 6-8
Lessons offer the primary studies of classical dance technique, modern jazz, ballet and/ or basic tap techniques. Coordination exercises are highly emphasized for learning to listen to music while executing movements. Dances are taught where children learn how to work as a group and develop basic performance skills. One - two lessons per week are recommended for maximum achievement.
Classical Ballet Lessons teach body stance, classical foot positions and pointes of reference for body poses, movements of the arms, performance etiquette, group coordination, musicality and relationship to space.
Sapphires Ballet Dress Code:
Girls: Blue leotard with pink tights or socks & pink ballet shoes.
Boys: White T-Shirt, black tights or black shorts, white socks and ballet shoes
Rubies Classes (generally 90 minute lessons)
Ages 8 - 12
Classical Ballet Lessons are offered for the beginning and intermediate studies of classical dance training. The basics to all styles of professional dance forms requires the gradual assimilation of classical techniques developing strength, agility, flexibility, coordination and fluidity equally. Two -Three lessons a week are recommended for pre-professional training and maximum achievement.
Rubies Ballet Dress Code:
Girls: Red leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes. Black leotards are okay for dancers participating from other classes. Addition: Pink Pointe Shoes (Optional) with minimum requirement of two years of classical dance training, age ten or older and active in three classical dance lessons a week and/or with teacher’s approval.
Boys: White T-Shirt, black tights or gym shorts, white socks and ballet slippers.
Modern/Jazz Lessons practice compulsory exercises for body movement, awareness and application to routines and choreographed dances in different styles of dance. A Classical Ballet Lesson is recommended in addition for maximum achievement.
Rubies Jazz Dress Code:
Jazz shoes recommended with Jazz pants/shorts/tights.
Emeralds Classes (90-120 minute lessons)
Ages 11-Teenagers
Classical Ballet Lessons are at the advanced beginner and intermediate levels of training for the study of Classical Dance; Providing the gradual assimilation of all elements needed for maximum personal achievement and offering the student the greatest chance for satisfaction with their performance. Pointe work is optional with the approval of the teacher. Three - four lessons a week are recommended for pre-professional training and maximum achievement.
Emeralds Ballet Dress Code:
Girls: Green leotard, pink tights and pink ballet slippers. (Pink ribbons on Ballet Slippers & Pointe shoes for Professional Program).
Boys: White T-shirt, black tights or gym shorts, and white socks.
Modern/Jazz Lessons offer practice and instruction on stylized choreographed movements in exercises to develop routines and dances. One classical dance lesson is recommended in addition for maximum results.
Emeralds Jazz Dress Code:
Same as ballet with option of jazz pants/shorts and jazz/tap shoes
Amethyst Classes (90-120 minute lessons)
Ages 16-Adult

Rehearsals: All rehearsals are done during scheduled rehearsal time (rehearsal hours are at no additional cost).
